Quick update

Just thought I'd pop in and update real quick.

I'm sitting here at the local library in order to get on the computer.

Jon thinks he fixed our computer, but of course, he got rid of the internet before he did that. He wants to hold off a bit before we get online again. I'm not sure how long I can take not having internet, but hopefully I'll endure.

I'll give him til August, and then he's out of luck. The girls get out of school July 10th for six weeks, so if I'm not blogging during that time, it's probably a good thing. I need to give them my attention.

Just a quick pic or two for your viewing pleasure.

Little Three Eyes.....a.ka. my googly eyed monster.

And Little One Eye.....a.k.a. my poor little boy who scratched his eyeball last week. He's all better now I'm happy to say.

HOpe you're all doing well. I miss visiting your blogs. I'll have some major catching up to do by August.

so long, farewell, auf weidersehen, adieu.....

Well, I guess we may be off line for a while. Jon just called me (at work) to let me know he thinks the computer is shot (again). It started going crazy while Ashley was on it, he said he ran a virus scan and it came up with like 8 trojan's.
He's trying to figure it out, and see if he can salvage anything, but who knows?
Since we surely can't afford a new computer right now, or anytime in the foreseeable future, I'll say farewell for now.
I'll try to check in now and then (probably from work, when I shouldn't be).
Hopefully, with less time dedicated to the computer, I'll actually get my house in order. Here's hoping.
P.S. you know with my luck, I'll win all those giveaways I've entered, but I won't even know it because I won't be accessing my accounts, and so they'll have to pick an alternate winner. OH Man!!!

I have found the solution!!!

I hate dieting. I could never be anorexic, or bulimic. UGH!!!

But that's ok, because I stumbled across the perfect solution to my ever increasing girth......

Ok, seriously?!?!?!?!?!
What were people thinking?

I really enjoyed this one....

Athiest Holiday
This is living proof that every moron in the world has a right to petition the court--and tie it up with foolishness.
Have you heard about this case? Great answer from the judge!
In Florida , an atheist became incensed over the preparation of Easter and Passover holidays. He decided to contact his lawyer about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while atheists had no holiday to celebrate. The case was brought before a judge.
After listening to the long passionate presentation by the lawyer, the Judge banged his gavel and declared, 'Case dismissed!
'The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, 'Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah...yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!
'The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said, 'Obviously your client is too confused to even know about, much less celebrate his own atheists' holiday! '
The lawyer pompously said, 'Your Honor, we are unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be, your Honor?'
The judge said, 'Well it comes every year on exactly the same date---April 1st! Since our calendar sets April 1st as 'April Fools Day,' consider that Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, in my opinion, if your client says there is no God, then by scripture, he is a fool, and April 1st is his holiday!
Now have a good day and get out of my courtroom!!

Meet the newest members of our family.....

Here are the newest members of the Firelein clan.
We've tentatively named them Shrek and Fiona.

Shrek is a 7 week old male.

Fiona is an 8 week old female.
We've also considered Bonnie & Clyde and Sunny & Cher as their names.
Jon and I both like Gandalf for the grey one, but Ashley and Haley aren't crazy about that name.
Any suggestions?

Do you recognize these?

aaahhh, one mans trash is another mans treasure....
Found these today at the DI. (Mormon version of the GoodWill) $2 per panel. I love them. They don't go so well with my current paint color, but they're perfect for the color we'll be painting the walls this summer. Beige.
They are also exactly the perfect combination of colors to go with my new color theme. Beige, red and olive green, or is it sage green. Well, somewhere in that area of green.
Now I can't wait to get the painting started.

Cherish

"How foolish I'd been to let her childhood, her fleeting, precious childhood slip away. Forever. In my young mind everything was so permanent and lasting. My little girl would be my little girl forever. But time would prove me wrong. Someday she'd grow up. Someday she'd be gone and I would be left with the memory of giggles and secrets I might have known. "

mid-week mad-randomess

So, Ashley actually made it to school today, and for the whole day!! WHooHooo!!!
She was doing her usual, I don't feel good thing this morning, I had her take her meds that the doctor prescribed yesterday, and she promptly threw it all up in the kitchen sink. So, I made her go relax on the couch for a bit, and chomp on a couple saltines, hoping it would calm her stomach. The crazy thing about this is that she's fine in the afternoons, it's the mornings when she's been feeling all nauseous and whatever, which is what really makes me wonder if this is all psychosomatic (is that the correct word?). So, after settling down a bit, I had her re-take her meds, take a break, eat some more crackers, take a break, go brush her teeth, take a break, get dressed for school, take a break, brush her hair, take a break, etc., etc., etc.....
AND we made it out the door and across the street to school. She even managed a smile for her friends, and laughed a little at the boys' antics.
I didn't get a call from the school telling me to come pick her up. I am so relieved!!!
So, hopefully we've turned the corner on this thing. Thanks everyone for your well wishes and comments. I may still take her to see the school counselor, just to see if that might help even more. Definitely keeping an eye on her for the next little bit.
~~~~~~
So, I was ringing up a customer at work the other night, and whenever I handle a credit card, I'm required to ask for ID, which I did in this case. You'd think I asked her to hand her eye balls to me or something. She was like "EXCUSE ME?", and not in the "I didn't hear you, could you repeat that" manner, but in the "are you insane?" manner.
So tell me, when a cashier asks to see your ID with your credit card, don't you feel good knowing they're watching out for you security, or are you offended?
~~~~~~~
I really need a fashion intervention, I wish someone would report me to What Not to Wear!
~~~~~~
Oh, and as long as we're at it, one of those home makeover shows too.
~~~~~~
I really, really am having a major problem with motivation lately. I just can't bring myself to do anything truly productive. It sucks!
~~~~~
I can't believe it's already June. Where has this year gone? I mean seriously...., Seriously.
~~~~~
My Christmas village is still on display.
~~~~~
I have noticed that if I just vacuum the floor, I'm more likely to do other housework with it, like clear off the table, and the island, and do the dishes. Hmmmmm. Looks like I need to begin every day with the vacuum cleaner.
~~~~
Hope you're all having a great week!

Where did my little girl go?

I can't believe I have a ten year old. Isn't she gorgeous? I know, I'm a bit partial, but I think she's a cutie. I swear, just a minute ago, I felt her enter this world. The time surely gets away from you. I haven't treasured our time together nearly enough. She is truly a priceless treasure, I pray I can spend more time valuing her, and less time nagging. Before I know it, she'll be wishing I weren't her mother and trying to stay away from me in crowds, pretending not to know me. sigh.

She's feeling a bit better today, still didn't go back to school; but all her tests have come back good. That's at least good to know.
